The air above his helium tank was bright with herds of balloon giraffes, elephants, horses, packs of dogs from dachshunds to whippets, flights of birds and butterflies, troops of monkeys all bobbing at the ends of their ribbon strings. Compared to these, a plain, round helium balloon, however large and bright a planet, fell flat.
